The Diocese of Dodge City and Newman University share the same Catholic theology and concern for the formation of the laity. They collaborate through Church in Partnership to provide pastoral ministry formation, access to Catholic higher education, and other formation programs.

Church in Partnership uses an Interactive Network to facilitate communication across the 23,054 square mile territory of Southwest Kansas. The Pastoral Ministry Formation Program uses the network to offer students the opportunity to earn a degree in Pastoral Ministry from Newman University or a Diocesan Diploma from the Diocese of Dodge City. Newman University Western Kansas uses the Interactive Network to offer students the opportunity to earn a B.S. in Elementary Education, MS in Curriculum Instruction, MS in Building Leadership and an MSW in Social Work.

Church in Partnership connects people across the diocese, equips people with knowledge and skills and sends people forth to do ministry.
