As a part of the diocesan curia, the Chancellor's principle function is to gather, arrange and safeguard documents and records of the curia. (c. 482, 1). By definition, the Chancellor is also an ecclesiastical notary and secretary of the curia. (c. 482, 3) In addition to the canonical responsibilities, currently the Chancellor in the Diocese of Dodge City serves as canonical advisor to the bishop and is appointed Delegate of the Ordinary in order to grant matrimonial dispensations and permissions.

Official Catholic Directory Annual Update
The Official Catholic Directory (sometimes referred to as the Kenedy Directory) is the official source for verifying the tax-exempt status of Catholic Institutions under the IRS/United States Conference of Catholic Bishop's Group Ruling. As such, each diocese and each entity listed in the Official Catholic Directory must keep its information current from year to year.
Each Fall every parish and entity that appears in the Diocese of Dodge City section of the Official Catholic Directory must review and update (if necessary) the information pertaining with that entity. Each parish has the most to review and edit: name(s) of priests, names of paid staff, religious education stats, school stats, as well as current sacramental records statistics for the current calendar year. Current parishes (and most previous parishes) with schools also have a school endowment page to review.
The week of October 18 or October 23 emails were sent out from The Official Catholic Directory to the registered contact persons who were indicated in the 2020 edition. The subject line was: "Update your OCD 2022 tax record online." (Remember to check your spam folder if you can't find it in your inbox)
If you were/are the contact person as indicated at the time of last year's revision, but you cannot locate the email, click the link below for the content of that email. If you are now the contact person (such as a new secretary or a new priest in a parish who has not done this before), click on the other link below for instructions how to go to the site to register your email address so that you can have access to your parish information to review and edit.
