All adults who have regular contact with minors must be compliant PRIOR to beginning their volunteer ministry or activity. Compliance means an adult must already have attended an in-person Protecting God’s Children awareness session AND already have completed a background check. Completing the following steps will assist with an adult in becoming compliant with our diocesan Safe Environment requirements.

Step 1: Complete Background Check & Policy Acknowledgement

Please register and log on to CMG Connect under the Diocese of Dodge City at https://dodgecity.cmgconnect.org. Once logged on to CMG Connect,   complete STEP 1: Background Check Submission & Policy Acknowledgement -Dodge City.  NOTE: After submitting your background check request, the curriculum will remain marked with “Resume” on your dashboard until AFTER your results are fully processed. Processing can take up to 7-10 business days to complete. 

Step 2: RSVP for a In-Person or Via Zoom Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session 

Still under the CMG Connect portal, go on to Step 2: Protecting God’ Children Awareness Session RSVP.

Step 3: Attend the In-Person Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session

At the training session, you will complete a sign-in sheet that will be sent to the Diocese to confirm your attendance. If you did not previously complete Steps 1 and 2 on the CMG Connect portal, you will be able to complete the forms at the training session. 

Protecting God’s Children Awareness Sessions via Videoconference

To ensure that all employees and volunteers are trained promptly, there are Protecting God’s Children Awareness Sessions scheduled via videoconference. Attendance will be limited at these sessions, so ideally, the spots will be filled by employees and volunteers from parishes where no in-person session is already scheduled. Attending a session via videoconference will fulfill the requirement to attend an in-person awareness session, as there will be time for group discussion, and participation is required.

If you would like to host an awareness session at your parish, please continue to contact the diocese to schedule one, as that is the preferred method of training. The awareness sessions via videoconference are only being offered because not all parishes can host a session, and due to time constraints.
