Did you know?

The Pontifical Mission Societies is a worldwide network of organizations, at the service of the Pope,  present in every diocese in the country to support the missionary efforts of the Catholic Church through prayer and charity.  TPMS-USA was established in 1922 and has been supporting the Pope's missions worldwide ever since.

Four Societies, One Mission

TPMS in our Diocese

The Diocese of Dodge City in Southwestern Kansas is an active office for the TPMS USA network. The goal of these organizations is to spread a deepening awareness of the universal mission of the Church and to inform Catholics of the life and needs of the Catholic Church in the Missions. It is a means to encourage prayer and financial help for the mission churches and for the support and education of the seminarians in developing countries.

Our involvement in these efforts is through diocesan contributions to the universal World Mission Sunday Collection held on the third Sunday of October every year, and in the Missionary Union cooperation plan of inviting men and women to the diocese to appeal for the needs in areas where their communities do missionary work.

Life and Dignity of the Human Person

Catholic social teaching inspires and guides how we are to live and work in the world. In this principle, Life and Dignity of the Human Person, Jesus reminds us that we are all made in God's image and likeness. That means that every human being has a special value and a purpose. We need to care for each other so we can be the people God calls us to be.
