We grieve for our children: Mission

In our last issue of the SKR, I grieved for our brothers and sisters killed December 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I wrote of God’s love for all the children He created, as each person deserves a chance to live and grow into the blessing that God created him/her to be. Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs” (Luke 18:16).
Jesus is also describing his love for some other children. We just commemorated the 40th anniversary of another kind of suffering of our children. There were thousands of other little ones killed December 14, little girls and boys who suffered abortion. These precious ones in their mother’s wombs did not even take their first breaths before their beating hearts were stopped. In the process, their dear moms were wounded physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Their dads, called to protect their offspring, were left empty.
We are outraged at the killings of the little children in their classroom in Connecticut. We want to do something about it – we have a mission! The Lord is also calling us to take up the mission to end the violence of abortion as well. I am asking us to reflect on the priceless gift of human life. Gifts are, at times, taken for granted, but in times of tragedy we often profoundly recognize the gifts God has given us. The gifts of the little children in the womb, made in God’s image and likeness, are to be treasured like the little ones in our elementary school classrooms. The moms in crisis pregnancies are to be honored like the moms of the children killed in Newtown.
All of God’s little ones are to be reverenced: the terminally ill woman suffering pain and depression, the elderly man on fixed income who has to choose between medicine and food, the death row inmate whose shattered life culminates in an unspeakable crime, the working single mom who must take her family to a shelter for each evening meal, the unemployed dad who feels inadequate to support his family, the teen who is burdened by such loneliness that she contemplates suicide, the mentally ill man who is not getting treatment, the unborn little girl in the womb and her mother who feels without hope, and all God’s children, including you and me.
Aborting the precious baby boys and girls in the womb, like the killing of 6- and 7-year olds at school, is wrong and evil. We must seek the truth, and the ultimate Truth is a Person – Jesus Christ. With His grace, we can change our hearts and our laws. We must assist the moms and dads in crisis pregnancies. We must value all human life, life created by our Loving Lord. We must build up marriage between one man and one woman, and support the family, modeled after the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Our mission: let us unite as a human family for the protection and love of all human life, all the boys and girls, youth, women and men made in God’s image, born and unborn, young and old, healthy and ill. Let us grieve for those who suffer, and compassionately care for them. Jesus will help us, He loves us more than we can ask or imagine!
Lloramos por Nuestros Niños: Misión
En nuestra última publicación del SKR, lloraba por nuestros hermanos y hermanas que fueron asesinados el 14 de diciembre en la escuela primaria de Sandy Hook. Escribí sobre el amor que Dios tiene por todos los niños que el creo, como cada persona merece una oportunidad de vivir y crecer en la bendición que Dios creo para él/ella. Jesús dijo: “Dejen que los niños vengan a mí y no se lo impidan, porque el Reino de Dios pertenece a los que son como ellos.” (Lucas 18:16).
Jesús también describe su amor por otros niños. Acabamos de conmemorar el 40º aniversario de otro tipo de sufrimiento de nuestros hijos. Hay miles de otros pequeños matados el 14 de diciembre, las niñas y los niños que han sufrido el aborto. Estos preciosos pequeños en las matrices de sus madres ni siquiera han respirado por primera vez antes de que se detuviera el latido de su corazón. En el proceso, sus queridas madres han sido dañadas físicamente, emocionalmente y espiritualmente. Sus padres, llamados a proteger sus crías, quedaron vacíos.
Estamos indignados por la matanza de los niños pequeños en los salones de Connecticut. Queremos hacer algo al respeto – ¡tenemos una misión! El Señor también nos llama para tomar la misión de terminar la violencia del aborto también. Pido que nosotros reflexionemos sobre el regalo inestimable de la vida humana. Los regalos, a veces, se dan por sentados, pero en tiempos de tragedia muchas de las veces reconocemos profundamente estos regalos que Dios nos ha dado. Los regalos de los niños en el vientre, hechos a la imagen y semejanza de Dios, se deben de apreciar como los más pequeños de los salones de las escuelas primarias. Las mamas en embarazos de crisis se deben honrar como las mamas de los niños asesinados en Newtown.
Todos los pequeños de Dios se debe venerar: la mujer con una enfermedad terminal sufriendo de dolor y depresión, el anciano con ingresos fijos que tiene que escoger entre medicina o alimentos, un condenado a la muerte cuya vida destrozada se culminó a un crimen inexplicable, la mama trabajadora y soltera que tiene que llevar a su familia a un refugio para cada cena, el papa sin empleo que se siente inadecuado para ayudar a su familia, el adolescente que siente el peso de la soledad que contempla el suicidio, el hombre enfermo de la mente que no consigue tratamiento, la niña aun no nacida en la matriz y su madre que se siente sin esperanza—y a todos los niños de Dios, incluso a ti y a mí.
Abortando los niños preciosos y las niñas pequeñas en la matriz, como la matanza de los de 6- y 7-años de edad en la escuela, es incorrecto y mal. Debemos buscar la verdad y la verdad suprema es una Persona – Jesucristo. Con Su gracia, podemos cambiar nuestros corazones y nuestras leyes. Debemos de ayudar a las madres y a los padres en embarazos de crisis. Debemos valorar a toda la vida humana, creada por nuestro tierno Señor. Debemos construir un matrimonio entre un hombre y una mujer y apoyar a la familia, modelada por la Familia Santa de Jesús, Maria y José. Nuestra misión: vamos a unirnos como una familia humana para la protección y amor de toda la vida humana, todos los niños y niñas, jóvenes, mujeres y hombres hechos en la imagen de Dios, nacidos y aun sin nacer, joven o viejos, saludables y enfermos. Lloremos por aquellos quienes sufren y compasivamente cuidar de ellos. Jesús nos ayudara, ¡Él nos ama más de lo que podemos pedir o imaginar!
