Think of your favorite team sport. Remember their last national championship. You probably can recall where you were watching the game, who you were with, the final score and highlights. If your team is in the next finals, you would run to the venue to cheer. If they won again, the amazement in your fav team would grow.
In the resurrection story in St. Luke's Gospel (24:1-12), the women witnesses "remembered Jesus' words" predicting His death and resurrection. Peter "ran to the tomb." He "went home amazed at what happened." Jesus suffered and died to take away our sins, and on the third day He rose from the dead to open the gates of heaven for us, for you, for me. This is the best championship by our greatest Champion!
As we begin this Easter Season, let us celebrate this life-giving action in a special way for 50 days, until Pentecost, and beyond. May we run to the Lord in our need: in suffering, during times of joy, in thanksgiving, and during our temptations. Let us be in awe and amazement at this sacrificial, unconditional, and giving love of Christ. Our Risen Jesus loves us more than we can ask or imagine!
Recuerda, corre, sorpréndete esta Semana Santa

Piensa en tu equipo favorito de deporte. Recuerda su último campeonato nacional. Probablemente puedas recordar dónde estabas viendo el partido, con quién estabas, el marcador final y los mejores momentos. Si tu equipo está en la próxima final, correrías al lugar para animar. Si volviera a ganar, el asombro en tu equipo favorito crecería.
En la historia de la resurrección en el Evangelio de San Lucas (24:1-12), las mujeres testigos "recordaron las palabras de Jesús" prediciendo Su muerte y resurrección. Pedro "corrió al sepulcro". Él "se fue a casa asombrado por lo que pasó". Jesús sufrió y murió para quitar nuestros pecados, y al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos para abrir las puertas del cielo para nosotros, para tí, para mí. ¡Este es el mejor campeonato de nuestro mejor Campeón!
Al comenzar este tiempo de Pascua, celebremos esta acción que de vida de manera especial durante 50 días, hasta Pentecostés y más allá. Que corramos al Señor en nuestra necesidad: en el sufrimiento, en los momentos de alegría, en la acción de gracias y en nuestras tentaciones. Estemos admirados y asombrados por este amor sacrificial, incondicional y generoso de Cristo. ¡Nuestro Jesús Resucitado nos ama más de lo que podamos pedir o imaginar!
