The Easter candy is gone, we are in the middle of Mother's/Father's Days, Confirmations, First Communions, graduations, end of school, and many other celebrations. Yet, the Easter Season is still with us. We remember Jesus is Risen and He loves us so much. How do we avoid forgetting our Lord amid the hectic events and schedules we seem to have in modern society?
One way to keep Christ in focus is to get involved in serving our Loving Lord. We have many ways to serve:
Value Them Both: This constitutional amendment for Kansas (vote YES on August 2) is vital for keeping babies and moms safe from the agony of abortion. Get involved in your parish and community to serve our Risen Jesus. See the articles in this issue of the SKC.
Eucharistic Revival: This is a national effort to promote God's gift of the Eucharist, the Bread of Life, the Real Presence of the Lord. Read the Gospel of John, Chapter 6. Participate in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Walk the Corpus Christi procession on June 19.
Synod on Synodality: Pope Francis has called the Universal Church to a greater unity, united in Christ, with the Synod process. Continue to discuss this with each other and in small groups. Pray that we may all be one, in peace, justice, and compassion.
Pastoral Plan for the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City: "Love one another as I love you" (John 15:12). To evangelize, to catechize, to build community, to pray, and to serve. These five pillars are how we put the Gospel message into practice. Living God's plan for us will keep us focused on Him.
Ask the Lord where He is calling you to serve. Ask for the wisdom, strength and courage to keep serving when you are tired or frustrated. Trust that God will assist you to bear fruit in your ministry. We are out of Easter chocolates, but the Risen Jesus is still loving us, still giving grace to us, still blessing us. Thank you for your faithfulness. My prayers are with you.

Se acabaron los dulces de Pascua, estamos en medio de los Días de la Madre/Padre, Confirmaciones, Primeras Comuniones, graduaciones, fin de curso y muchas otras celebraciones. Sin embargo, la temporada de Pascua todavía está con nosotros. Recordamos a Jesús resucitado y nos ama tanto. ¿Cómo evitamos olvidar a nuestro Señor en medio de los agitados eventos y horarios que parecemos tener en la sociedad moderna?
Una manera de mantener a Cristo enfocado es involucrarse en servir a nuestro Señor Amoroso. Tenemos muchas formas de servir:

Avivamiento Eucarístico: este es un esfuerzo nacional para promover el don de Dios de la Eucaristía, el Pan de Vida, la Presencia Real del Señor. Leer el Evangelio de Juan, Capítulo 6. Participar en la adoración del Santísimo Sacramento. Recorre la procesión del Corpus Christi el 19 de junio.
Sínodo sobre la Sinodalidad: El Papa Francisco ha llamado a la Iglesia Universal a una mayor unidad, unida en Cristo, con el proceso del Sínodo. Continúen discutiendo esto entre ustedes y en pequeños grupos. Ore para que todos seamos uno, en paz, justicia y compasión.
Plan Pastoral para la Diócesis Católica de Dodge City: “Amaos unos a otros como yo os amo” (Juan 15:12). Para evangelizar, catequizar, construir comunidad, orar y servir. Estos cinco pilares son cómo ponemos en práctica el mensaje del Evangelio. Vivir el plan de Dios para nosotros nos mantendrá enfocados en Él.
Pregúntale al Señor dónde te está llamando para servir. Pide sabiduría, fuerza y coraje para seguir sirviendo cuando estés cansado o frustrado. Confía en que Dios te ayudará a dar fruto en tu ministerio. Nos quedamos sin chocolates de Pascua, pero Jesús Resucitado todavía nos ama, todavía nos da gracia, todavía nos bendice.
