The Lord’s call to a Stewardship way of life can be summarized in two words: Gift & Gratitude. Our Loving God blesses us with so many gifts – our lives, our families and friends, the air we breath, the food we eat, our education, charisms, abilities, finances, and much more.
How do we respond to this abundance from God? We share our gratitude. We are so grateful, that we share with others. We respond in love as we give of our very selves to God and our neighbor.
This grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes and receives God’s gifts and shares these gifts in love of God and neighbor is called Stewardship. Stewardship is how we put our discipleship (as followers of Christ) into practice.
This weekend is our annual Stewardship Commitment Sunday. Gratitude for the Lord’s gifts is renewed by each parishioner in each parish. This is done by completing a Stewardship of Abilities and Charisms form, and a Tithing and Almsgiving form. If your parish doesn’t have this, speak with your pastor or a member of your Pastoral Council. God may be calling you to assist with Annual Stewardship Renewal in your parish, as you show your appreciation for the many blessings you receive. Show love for God and neighbor -- Jesus loves you more than you can ask or imagine!
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10).
Regalos y gratitud
El llamado del Señor a una vida de compartir se resume en dos palabras: Don y Gratitud. Nuestro amoroso Dios nos bendice con innumerables dones: nuestras vidas, nuestras familias y amigos, el aire que respiramos, los alimentos que comemos, nuestra educación, carismas, habilidades, recursos económicos y mucho más.
¿Cómo respondemos a esta abundancia de Dios? Compartimos nuestra gratitud. Estamos tan agradecidos que compartimos con los demás. Respondemos con amor entregándonos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo.
Esta respuesta agradecida del discípulo cristiano que reconoce y recibe los dones de Dios y los comparte con amor a Dios y al prójimo se llama compartir. El compartir es la forma en que ponemos en práctica nuestro discipulado (como seguidores de Cristo).
Este fin de semana celebramos nuestro Domingo Anual de Compromiso de Compartir. Cada feligrés renueva su gratitud por los dones del Señor completando un formulario de Compartir de Habilidades y Carismas, y un formulario de Diezmo y Limosna. Si su parroquia no cuenta con este programa, hable con su párroco o con un miembro del Consejo Pastoral. Dios podría estar llamándolo a participar en la Renovación Anual de la Corresponsabilidad en su parroquia, como muestra de agradecimiento por las muchas bendiciones que recibe. Demuestre amor a Dios y al prójimo: ¡Jesús lo ama más de lo que puede pedir o imaginar!
«Cada uno ponga al servicio de los demás el don que ha recibido, administrando fielmente la multiforme gracia de Dios» (1 Pedro 4,10).
