“Then the angel said to the women in reply, ‘Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the Crucified. He is not here, for He has been raised just as He said’” (Matthew 28: 5-6).
The Resurrection Gospel for the Easter Vigil, Year A, is from St. Matthew. The women are twice told to not be afraid. I am afraid of …? We ask the Risen One to reveal what we are afraid of, and to convict us to courageously face this fear. Some possibilities: afraid of reconciling with a certain person, fear of necessary sacrifice, distress in the midst of suffering. Ask Jesus to heal us of this fear. He loves us so much: Jesus died to take away our sins, and rose from the dead to open the gates of heaven. Salvation! A joyous Easter to you and your family!
“And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them. They approached, embraced His feet, and did Him homage. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid’” (Matthew 28:9-10).

¡El Señor ha resucitado! ¡No tengan miedo!
“El ángel se dirigió a las mujeres y les dijo: ‘No teman. Ya sé que buscan a Jesús, el crucificado. No está aquí; ha resucitado, como lo había dicho’” (Mateo 28,5-6).
El Evangelio de la Resurrección para la Vigilia Pascual, Ciclo A, proviene de San Mateo. A las mujeres se les dice dos veces que no tengan miedo. ¿De qué tengo miedo yo? Pidamos al Resucitado que nos revele aquello que nos atemoriza y que nos impulse a enfrentar ese miedo con valentía. Algunas posibilidades: miedo a reconciliarnos con cierta persona, temor ante un sacrificio necesario, angustia en medio del sufrimiento. Pidamos a Jesús que nos sane de este miedo. Él nos ama inmensamente: Jesús murió para quitar nuestros pecados y resucitó de entre los muertos para abrirnos las puertas del cielo. ¡Salvación! ¡Les deseo una feliz Pascua a ustedes y a sus familias!
“Pero de repente Jesús les salió al encuentro y las saludó. Ellas se le acercaron, le abrazaron los pies y lo adoraron. Entonces les dijo Jesús: ‘No tengan miedo’” (Mateo 28,9-10).
