"When two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst” (Matthew 18:20). This is the theme for our 2026-2031 Pastoral Plan for the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City. Parts 1 to 6 of this series describes the plan (see our website – hover over “News” and select Bishop Brungardt’s Column). This article will describe ways to put the plan into action.
In your parish: the pastor and chair of the pastoral council brainstorm. For example, have the pastoral council members read and discuss the plan. Then each member of the pastoral council take the plan home to ponder and pray. At the next meeting, bring ideas to the council. Continue consulting and praying until the council reaches a consensus on one priority (of the three: Call to Holiness, Family, and Relationships). Follow-up meetings will determine how your parish, with the Lord’s help, will implement this priority.
In your parish organization: similar to above. For example, the Knights of Columbus may choose “holiness” as their priority. They implement the Cor (Latin for “heart”) program to grow in their spiritual lives. Another example: The Altar Society may choose “relationships” as their priority. They work on ways to build stronger relationships with each other, invite new members, reach out to the ill and elderly, and put into practice that Jesus is in our midst.
In your family: The “family” priority can be implemented by rededicating yourselves to family prayer before bedtime – pray a rosary, read a life of a saint or Bible story, etc. Possibly take a family pilgrimage to your parish, a neighboring parish, or a cemetery to pray.
In yourself: Immerse yourself in the Scripture verses of the pastoral plan to see where God is leading you.
These are just a few ideas to get you started. May we be united in the heavenly Father, inspired by the Holy Spirit, as we gather together with Jesus in our midst. May we grow in holiness, love as a family, and build relationships in the Lord. Jesus loves us more than we can ask or imagine!

Jesús en medio de nosotros Parte 7
"Donde dos o tres se reúnen en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos» (Mateo 18,20). Este es el tema de nuestro Plan Pastoral 2026-2031 para la Diócesis Católica de Dodge City. En su parroquia: el párroco y el presidente del consejo pastoral intercambian ideas. Por ejemplo, hagan que los miembros del consejo pastoral lean y discutan el plan (véase la pág. 53 de esta edición). Luego, que cada miembro del consejo pastoral lleve el plan a casa para reflexionar y orar. En la siguiente reunión, presenten las ideas ante el consejo. Continúen consultando y orando hasta que el consejo llegue a un consenso sobre una prioridad (de las tres: el llamado a la santidad, la familia y las relaciones). En su organización parroquial: de manera similar a lo anterior. Por ejemplo, los Caballeros de Colón pueden elegir la «santidad» como su prioridad. Implementan el programa *Cor* (término en latín para «corazón») para crecer en su vida espiritual. Otro ejemplo: la Sociedad del Altar puede elegir las «relaciones» como su prioridad. Trabajan en formas de construir relaciones más sólidas entre sí, invitar a nuevos miembros, tender la mano a los enfermos y ancianos, y poner en práctica la realidad de que Jesús está en medio de nosotros.
En su familia: la prioridad de la «familia» puede implementarse rededicándose a la oración familiar antes de acostarse: recen un rosario, lean la vida de un santo o una historia bíblica, etc. Posiblemente, realicen una peregrinación familiar a su parroquia, a una parroquia vecina o a un cementerio para orar.
En usted mismo: sumérjase en los versículos de las Escrituras del plan pastoral para discernir hacia dónde lo está guiando Dios.
Estas son solo algunas ideas para comenzar. Que estemos unidos en el Padre celestial, inspirados por el Espíritu Santo, al reunirnos con Jesús en medio de nosotros. Que crezcamos en santidad, amemos como familia y construyamos relaciones en el Señor. ¡Jesús nos ama más de lo que podemos pedir o imaginar!
