Jesus said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Luke 10:2). The Lord is sending us laborers, priests, for the harvest, our spiritual lives: Deacon Carson Haupt, Deacon Eric Frieb and Deacon Esteban Hernández-Mejía will be ordained priests at 10:00 a.m., Saturday May 30, 2026, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City. Thanks be to God!
Everyone is most cordially invited – let’s fill the Cathedral. During our 75-year history of the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City, this will be the first time that three priests will be ordained at the same Holy Mass! Please participate in the celebration of these three men, who may be future priests in your parish.
Thank you for the many sacrifices you and your parishes have made for these transitional deacons. Your prayers, formation, service, tithe, alms, accompaniment and other gifts have made their long journey to the priesthood possible. Please bring your family members. Priests come from families like yours (the seedbed of vocations – Pope St. John Paul II), and parishes like yours.
Possibly some of your sons, grandsons, or nephews are called by God to be priests, bringing us the Sacraments, preaching the Good News, and shepherding like Jesus Christ – bringing Christ to others and others to Christ. Parents: If your son is called by God to be a priest, that will bring him the most fulfillment, the most joy, the most peace. Isn't that what you desire for your son? "Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'Take courage; it is I. Do not be afraid'" (Matthew 14:27).
I ask your prayers for Deacon Esteban, Deacon Eric, and Deacon Carson these last few days before they receive the sacrament of Holy Orders. Jesus loves them, and all of us, more than we can ask or imagine!

¡El Señor de la cosecha está enviando obreros!
Jesús les dijo: «La cosecha es abundante, pero los obreros son pocos; por eso, pidan al dueño de la cosecha que envíe obreros para su cosecha» (Lucas 10,2). El Señor nos está enviando obreros —sacerdotes— para la cosecha: nuestras vidas espirituales. El diácono Carson Haupt, el diácono Eric Frieb y el diácono Esteban Hernández-Mejía serán ordenados sacerdotes a las 10:00 a. m. del sábado 30 de mayo de 2026, en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Dodge City. ¡Demos gracias a Dios!

Es posible que algunos de sus hijos, nietos o sobrinos hayan sido llamados por Dios para ser sacerdotes, para traernos los Sacramentos, predicar la Buena Nueva y pastorear al modo de Jesucristo; llevando a Cristo a los demás y llevando a los demás hacia Cristo. Padres: si su hijo ha sido llamado por Dios para ser sacerdote, eso le brindará la mayor plenitud, la mayor alegría y la mayor paz. ¿Acaso no es eso lo que desean para su hijo? «Jesús les habló, diciendo: "¡Ánimo! Soy yo. No tengan miedo"» (Mateo 14,27).
Les pido sus oraciones por el diácono Esteban, el diácono Eric y el diácono Carson durante estos últimos días antes de que reciban el sacramento del Orden Sacerdotal. ¡Jesús los ama a ellos —y a todos nosotros— más de lo que podemos pedir o imaginar!
