Thank you, Father in Heaven, for our three new priests: Father Carson Haupt, Father Eric Frieb and Father Esteban Hernández-Mejía, ordained on May 30, 2026, for the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City. Jesus said, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Luke 10:2). Each of these new priests promised that he would follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in his ministry as teacher, priest, and shepherd. (The Most Holy Trinity Sunday was two weeks ago.)
Thank you to all who formed these newly ordained laborers, and those who prepared and participated in the Mass of Ordination of Priests: their families, priests, religious sisters, deacons, seminary formators, Chancery staff, Cathedral staff, parishioners from all over the Diocese, and guests.
God willing, these new priests will serve the Diocese and beyond for decades to come.
Please remember them in your prayers as they continue to be formed. I ask that you be patient with them, and they be patient with you as they adjust to this blessed vocation. “Love is patient, love is kind” (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Pray for more seminarians, who come from our parishes and families. Join your parish Vocation Committee/group. Speak with your sons, grandsons, nephews, boys and single men in your parish; maybe they are called to the seminary and the priesthood.
Thank you, Good Shepherd Jesus, for Father Esteban, Father Eric, and Father Carson. You love them, and us, more than we can ask or imagine!

Gracias, Padre Celestial, por nuestros tres nuevos sacerdotes: el Padre Carson Haupt, el Padre Eric Frieb y el Padre Esteban Hernández-Mejía, ordenados el 30 de mayo de 2026 para la Diócesis Católica de Dodge City. Jesús dijo: «La mies es abundante, pero los obreros son pocos; rueguen, pues, al dueño de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies» (Lucas 10, 2). Cada uno de estos nuevos sacerdotes prometió seguir la guía del Espíritu Santo en su ministerio como maestro, sacerdote y pastor. (El Domingo de la Santísima Trinidad fue hace dos semanas). Gracias a todos los que formaron a estos obreros recién ordenados, y a quienes prepararon y participaron en la Misa de Ordenación Sacerdotal: sus familias, sacerdotes, religiosas, diáconos, formadores del seminario, personal de la Cancillería y de la Catedral, feligreses de toda la Diócesis e invitados.
Si Dios quiere, estos nuevos sacerdotes servirán a la Diócesis y más allá durante las próximas décadas. Por favor, ténganlos presentes en sus oraciones mientras continúan su formación. Les pido que sean pacientes con ellos, y que ellos sean pacientes con ustedes, mientras se adaptan a esta bendita vocación. «El amor es paciente, el amor es bondadoso» (1 Corintios 13, 4). Oren por más seminaristas, que provengan de nuestras parroquias y familias. Únanse al comité o grupo vocacional de su parroquia. Hablen con sus hijos, nietos, sobrinos, muchachos y hombres solteros de su parroquia; tal vez estén llamados al seminario y al sacerdocio.
